If you receive notice of your background being delayed here are some helpful tips to get you started:

• visit https://oag.ca.gov/firearms and scroll down to "delayed " and follow instructions for livescan.

• fill out and print https://oag.ca.gov/system/files/media/BOF_8016RR.pdf

• google or yelp "livescan" and take your completed form to them

• If you have questions about completing the “Request for Live Scan Service” form (BOF 8016RR), please contact the Record Review Unit at (916) 227-7527

• After you complete livescan there is no need to notify us , DOJ has 30 days from the date of delayed status to notify us of any changes to your background

• We strongly suggest to get the livescan done immediately following contact with us to give the DOJ adequate time to process the review
